Codes and Conventions of 'Total Film' magazine
Codes and conventions of 'Total Film' magazine
The title of the magazine is always in a large, white typeface at the top of the page.
An image is shown in the middle of the page, usually of a famous actor, and this image is always central.
The image in the middle of the page is the center focus and the image appears in front of the magazine title.
The bar code appears at the bottom or along the side of the magazine
The image of the film shown on the front cover is always supported by a bold film title.

Codes and convention of 'Empire' magazine
Empire magazine always has their name "Empire" at the top of the magazine cover, and the colour of this font is always a shade of red.
The bar code always features somewhere near the bottom of the page.
The main image of the poster is often in front of the title of the magazine.
They display the price of the magazine and the issue month in a small typeface somewhere in the magazine cover.
The cover includes references to other films and possibly what page they are found on in the magazine
Other information displayed on the magazine cover is placed with interesting perspectives, making the cover appear more interesting.
Similar fonts are used throughout the cover but the size of the typeface varies.
